Imagine being taken to prison in a foreign country.

You do not know why you are there.

Hundreds of other prisoners are screaming.

The smell of stress/bathrooms/death overwhelms your nose.

Other inmates leave and do not return. You know at least some of them are dying.

A person walks into your cell and you have no idea if they will help you or hurt you.

You have volunteered to give this dog a fresh start in life. You are kind, empathetic, and brave to step into the role of parenting a dog before you meet them. Please keep in mind that they have just experienced a traumatic event and will take time to decompress, but the space and peace that you provide them will be paid back with joy and affection (eventually)!
